Wedding Fun

We traveled to Hays this past weekend to attend Grady's cousin, Taryn's wedding. It was a good ol' western KS wedding and we all had a blast!

Jolee's First Day of School

My sweet little blue-eyed blonde is a kindergartner! It's so hard to believe that we now have 2 girls at the same school. She was SO excited today and absolutely LOVES her teacher. Her teacher, Mrs. Starling, is very warm and fuzzy just like Jolee is. Grady and I both managed to get out of the building today without shedding a tear...but it wasn't easy... After school, Macey and Jolee are to meet at the flagpole and walk together. Macey is a good big sister and Jolee did not leave her side.

Macey's First Day of School

2009: 3rd Grade

Today Macey is a 3rd grader. The summer absolutely flew by and now it's back to early bedtimes and homework! As I look at all of these "First Day of School" pictures, I can remember each of them like it was yesterday...

A Grand Weekend at Grand Lake

Our neighbors and friends, Keith & Tiffany, invited our family to spend a weekend with their family at Grand Lake in Oklahoma. They have access to a very nice lake house on a very quiet cove. It was just what we needed! Talk about peace and quiet!...well, except for the kids playing, yelling, sometimes screaming...you get the picture! :) Here are a few pics of our weekend...
The view from the deck...ahh!

Happy Birthday to My Baby...

I can hardly believe my baby is 3 years old today. She has been so excited about her birthday and we've been hearing about it for the past month! The other day we had this conversation: Me: "Emmy, I don't want you to turn 3, I want you to stay 2", Emmy: "But I HAVE to turn 3 on my birthday!", Me: "I know, but I want you to stay little", Emmy (with her most serious face): "Don't worry Mommy", Me: waterworks!! Happy Birthday to my sweet baby!...and you'll ALWAYS be my baby even when you're 30! I love you!
Here are the made-to-order cupcakes with "pink frosting and purple sprinkles!"
Sweet face...getting ready to blow 'em out!

Now bring 'em on!
Yummy!

Race for the Cure 2009

Today we celebrated my mom and her 8 1/2 years of surviving breast cancer. The turnout was amazing at this year's Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in KC. The Komen website said that there were 28,500 people there...how awesome is that! Every year more and more people show their support for this cause that is very near and dear to me. This year was extra special because my whole family participated! Jolee's little legs were very tired at the end, Macey was tired, too, but Emmy managed to take a little snooze in the stroller. After the event, Emmy was full of energy and ran most of the way to the car...about a mile away!

Mom, we love you and thank God that you never gave up HOPE!

The back of my mom's shirt read: I race in celebration of ME! 8 1/2 Years. Congratulations to all survivors. Do not give up hope!

Crossing the finish line! Way to go!
