Macey enjoyed 2 birthday parties (and 2 cakes). Below are pictures from her party with school friends.

Happy 9th Birthday Macey Jane!
Merry Christmas (part 1)
The first part of our Christmas celebration started at Grandpa Tom and Grandma Judy's house the night before Christmas Eve. We were joined by Uncle Scott and Aunt Megan. Unfortunately I was feeling a little under the weather, coupled with the fact that our stay was cut short by a day due to snow, so I ended up with fewer pictures than I would've liked. But, at least I got to capture the smiles on the girls...

Next year we are all praying for Santa to bring Uncle Scott and Aunt Megan a special gift of their own...a baby! If all goes well, maybe next Christmas we can visit them in Atlanta and welcome a new addition to our family. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Mom, can we eat 'em NOW?!
Dear Santa, We've Been Good!
We ventured to the mall to see Santa Claus so the girls could share their wish lists. Being mid-December, the mall was packed with busy shoppers everywhere. In other words, total mayhem! However, when the girls and the other children saw Santa come out, the wonder, magic and excitement in their eyes made all of the craziness melt away...it was SO worth the trip! Macey wants a DSi, Jolee wants Lulu the Fur Real kitty, and Emmy wants a BIG dollhouse. The girls have been good this year (well, for the most part!), so I'm betting that Santa and his elves will deliver!Santa's cute little helper

So Much to be Thankful for...
--------------------------------------------------------------
This Thanksgiving post is late...where oh where does the time go?! We took to the road over Thanksgiving and headed west. Our first stop was Grandma Judy's and Grandpa Tom's house.
I am thankful for wonderful grandparents who would do anything for their grandchildren.

Our next stop was my dad's house. We got to see my dad, Amy and baby Nathan (the most content baby I've ever seen!). We also visited my Grandma Frieda who had just been admitted to the hospital that day. It's so hard seeing the ones you love in pain, but I am thankful for the doctors and nurses trying to nurse her back to health.

Our final stop was my mom's house. My mom and her husband have quite a bit of land and the girls love exploring, trying to catch the wild kittens and playing with the dogs. I am thankful to be able to let them roam and be kids and not have to worry about them when we are there.
I am thankful for my amazing mom and her zest for life.

Atta Girl!
Up to this point, Macey has been my quietest daughter of the three. She is very studious and loves to read. One might say she is a teacher's dream. However, yesterday she brought home her 2nd quarter progress report. Notice under "Classroom Behavior" it says "chatty"! When I saw this I couldn't help but laugh out loud! I thought it was hysterical! Macey was very surprised when she saw it, too! Now, of course, we explained to Macey that it is not polite to talk in class while the teacher is trying to teach. But, overall, I am actually happy that my quiet girl is starting to come out of her shell....atta girl! :)
Ahhh...Florida in November
Grady had a business trip last week in Florida with the 3 other people on his team. As an appreciation for the hard work they have done, the wives were flown in for the weekend for a mini-vacation. The weather was picture perfect...sunny and 80 degrees! Even though it was short, it was very therapeutic and a very much needed get-a-way. A big THANK YOU to Grandma Judy for coming to KC and staying with the girls!

Halloween 2009
The older they get, the spookier they want to be...
Too cute to spook!...
Who says the kids have to have all the fun? After trick or treating we all went to a party where the adults had to dress up, too. We had a costume contest and had to stay "in character" for the first hour we were there. At the end of the hour, everyone voted on who was best...guess what? I WON! It was so much fun...
